Moving Home!

As most already know, we are moving back to Illinois!!!

In March Jeff found out about a job that he was very interested in. It is with the same company and is the direction he wants to go in his career. However, we signed a 2 year contract to be in Spain and didn't want to break that. After must discussion between his boss here and the hiring boss they agreed to let him apply. He interviewed in Germany, and about a week later we found out he had gotten the job! Yay, congrats Jeffrey! But, now came the hassle of figuring out a transition plan. Spain wanted him here longer, Quad Cities wanted him home sooner! The details were finally worked out and we have a moving home date of July 29th.

Jeff is now working both jobs, finishing up in Spain, and beginning the new job from here. He is busy and stressed out! His new job will require 50% travel! I am not thrilled about this, I won't like having him gone that much, but if he is happy with the new job, I am happy! And hey, I am moving home 7 months earlier than expected!

WIth the move comes the craziness! I feel we just did this. All the unanswered questions, packing, moving, selling cars, buying a car, finding a place to live, canceling accounts and memberships,etc....

But we are getting there. Just today we found a place to live. We have to rent a home for 18 months. When we moved to Spain, we rented our home in Geneseo to another Deere employee from Germany, he is in our home until March 2013! The only problem with this is we rented our home furnished!! We have decided to rent closer to our hometown. With Jeff being gone so much, I really wanted to be near family and Jeff will most like be able to work form home a day or two a week. We are renting in Princeton, about 20 minutes from our families! Much better that 4,500 mile away!

We have also sold Jeff's car here in Spain. So as of Tuesday I am carless again. Maybe being home will force me to pack! We also bought a car in the U.S., Jeff ordered a new Ford Focus that will be waiting for us when we get back.

Things are falling into place and now we need to enjoy our last month in Spain. We leave Thursday for our last big trip, we are going to Germany!

Trigs in Spain

Our latest visitors have left and we are getting back into a routine. Jeff's parents and our niece and nephew came for a visit for 10 days. Their trip started out rough with Joanne getting sick on the flight and Hannah losing her luggage for a few days, but I hope they still enjoyed seeing Spain and the differences from the United States.

While Jeff was working I took them to the zoo.

Trip to Illinois

We have been back in Spain for about 3 weeks and I am way over due for this post. Jeff had been asked to go to Waterloo Iowa for 2 weeks for work in the beginning of May. I was dying to go home and meet my new niece and all the other babies that had born since our last trip home. So Luca and I joined him. Fun trip for Luca and I....not so much for Jeff.

Here's a what we did....

I'm Still Here

Yes I know I haven't bogged in ages! I'm not giving up on the blog, we just have been very busy! I need to write about our trip back to the States, Jeff's new job, our move back home, and my in-laws and niece and nephews visit to Spain. I'll get to it, hopefully today while the Bubs takes a nap. Stay tuned....

Spring Break

Jeff had 11 days off over the Easter holiday and we took full advantage! We were ready for a nice relaxing vacation. We have been to some great places and have seen some awesome sights, but wanted a trip were we didn't rush to see as many things as possible and come home with feet full of blisters!

So we headed down to Costa Del Sol, the very south of Spain, were we stayed on the Mediterranean Sea. We had a nice resort with a beautiful sea view. Luca loved the waves of the ocean and jumping into the pools. It was a relaxing as could be with a 1 1/2 year old to chase around. But we took turns and fully enjoyed ourselves!

On the way way home we took a little detour to our good friends Pedro and Carmen's for the night.

The trip was wonderful.... but I think we caught a bug there, we have been sick since arriving home!

Next Adventure is a trip back home for 2 weeks!
