THe Little Green Apple

Luca has started 3 year old Pre-k and loves it! I am so excited he got into this program. I had originally signed him up for school in Princeton, not knowing we would be moving. So this summer when we moved to Geneseo all the preschools were already filled! We ended up getting very lucky. The people we bought our new home from had a little boy the same age as Luca who was enrolled in the Little Green Apple and we were able to take his place in the program. He goes to school two mornings a week for 3 hours. It is a great group of kids and wonderful parents. I couldn't be happier with it. Things are really falling into place, and we are confident that we made the right decision moving back to Geneseo! Some 1st Day photos!

Struggling...

I'm not sure if this is information I should share with the world or not. But I can't tell you how many times I have been asked, When are you going to have another baby?, don't you think it's time for another?, Luca's getting older you better hurry up,I thought you'd have another baby by now. The list goes on forever really. I'm to the point where I don't really know how to answer this question anymore. I try to be polite and say yes, hopefully soon, yotta yotta yotta. But honestly I want to scream and say I have been F#%&ing trying for a long time, mind your own buisness! I understand people aren't asking to be mean and it's just questions we ask. But when you are struggling to have a baby it just gets to you. If things happened liked you planned for them to in life, Jeff and I would have moved home from Spain with a baby on the way. But there's no planning in life, it will happen when it is suppose to happen I guess. I always thought in the back of mind I would have trouble getting pregnant. THis is something I even mentioned to my doctor right before Jeff and I were even married. So once we got married we tried right away for a baby. And I got SO lucky, I was pregnant with Luca right away. We joked that he was a miracle a baby, but maybe he really was. But now the second time around we are having trouble. When Jeff and I found out we were moving back to the U.S. we thought it would be awesome to bring home a Spanish souvenir! So thats when trying for baby #2 began. We tried for around 10 months when I then went to my OB with concerns. Right away she put me on Clomid, we did a few rounds and no luck. She then referred me to a fertility specialist where I got some answers. It turns out I have PCOS, which is tons of cysts on my ovaries. There are a lot of other factors that play along with PCOS, irregular cycles, acne, trouble losing weight, developing cancer down the road, etc. It is the number one cause of infertility in women. I left he doctor that day with a mix of emotions. Happy that we had an answer but scared that I may not be able to have another child. Jeff was more concerned for my health down the road. I hadn't gotten to thinking that far ahead yet. This does not been I will never be able to have another baby, I've had a baby not knowing I even had PCOS. I just think it is going to be a long road. We are following the steps the specialist has in place for us. And I hope soon that I can announce we will be adding to our family. Thank god for Luca, I can't imagine going through this not having any children. I feel for those struggling with infertility. It sucks! The drugs make you an emotional mess! I'm not writing this for sympathy I just feel it's time to share what's really going on. I've heard some interesting rumors out there as to why I can't get pregnant, they're quite comical really and I've even found myself playing along:) But I'm not gonna lie, there's days when it seems the whole world is announcing their pregnancy on Facebook, or I read moms complaining about their newborn baby over and over again and I'd do anything to be in their shoes. I know it will happen! There's a reason for everything! I'm just so so grateful for Luca Jay!! And honestly, I feel a little bit better now that I've wrote about this.
