The story of your birth....
Sunday, September 15 we had both Grammy and Papa and Momma Jo and Grandpa Jimmy over for Luca's soccer game and to watch the Bears and have Bagna Cauda after. I had been really craving it! I was 37 weeks pregnant that day. I had just been to the doctor and was dilated to 2 cm and 50% effaced. My dr. and my fertility dr. had differing due dates. My fertility dr was saying I was due Sept 30th. I was going with that one! My OB doc was going with Oct 7th. The baby was measuring very large and we had another Ultra sound scheduled for that Wednesday. They were concerned that because of your size they may have to do a c-section. They were planning that if you did not arrive on your own before Oct 3rd, I would be induced. I knew my body was not going to make it to this date. I really really did not want a c section. So I said some prayers that you would come on your own and a little early so you wouldn't be quit as big as they were saying. Well, you did just that!!
I joked that Sunday that the Bagna Cauda would put me into labor and it was my last meal. I told my Mom she better not go home because she would be turing back around because I was going to go into labor. All totally joking. Well, I was right! I woke up a little before 1:00 am and my water had broken! I yelled to Jeff and was in total shock! I had no idea really what I was going to do with Luca at this hour since our closest family members are over an hour away. I called a couple friends out here and finally got ahold of one. She was happy to take Luca and we dropped him off on the way to the hospital. Grammy arrived early in the morning to get Luca.
Luca was so good! We woke him up and said Mommy has to go to the hospital, its time for the baby to come. He was all calm and like ok, i'll go sleep at Aidens, I'll be fine!
We arrived at the hospital about 1:30am and I was having irregular contractions. They were going to wait until 6:00 am and see what happened on its own. At 6:00 they started piton. This got things going! The contraction were pretty intense! But thankfully I was not having back labor like I did with Luca. I was a little bummed because my doctor was not on call and I just love her! But in the end it all worked out fine. Once the pain got BAD I was begging for an epidural!! And they just kept putting it off! I was at 9cm and they still hadn't given me one! and they kept calling the anesthesiologist and he kept not showing!! I was getting a little angry at this point and thought it was going to be too late to get one. He finally showed and I had about 20minutes of relief before it was time to push. However, when I had Luca I was so numb I felt NOTHING! I thought that was how it was going to be again! Boy was I wrong! I felt it all this time! And I screamed like a crazy lady!! But after 2 pushes, there you came! I heard Daddy announce to me you were a BOY! and you were placed on my chest! A beautiful, healthy, baby boy! My family was complete and you were so worth the wait! Leo Tommasso arrived at 12:22pm and weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and were 20 1/2 inches long.
In a little pain...

Will it be Nola or Leo?

Love at first sight..
