We did Christmas a little different this year. Instead of seeing both families both Christmas eve and Christmas Day we just did Jeff's side Christmas eve and mine Christmas Day. In the past, Santa has also always made a trip to our house early and we spent the night back "home." Not this year! I wanted Santa to come to our home and on Christmas morning. So I hosted Christmas Day at our house. It was a lot less stressful for us and a lot fewer trips were made! I think it worked out well!
I think this has been the best Christmas so far. Luca was SO into it! He actual asked for specific things this year so seeing his face light up when ripping open presents was so fun. And of course it wasn't only about Santa and presents, we made sure to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus!
I love Chicago at Christmas time, so every year we make sure to take a trip to see all the decorations. We didn't do much shopping, just went more for the atmosphere. We ate some Chicago style pizza, went up to see the tree in the Walnut room, went to Daley Plaza for the Christkinldmarket, and Luca's favorite part; the ferris wheel at night at navy Pier! Great memories were made!
