O Christmas Tree

It's tradition to go get a real Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. This year we didn't go with my whole family like usual. It makes me sad but with living away from our family we just cant do everything all the time. I hope our families understand this, we are just doing what works best for our little family and what makes the holidays go by a bit more smoothly. We headed back to Geneseo and went to a tree farm in town in search of a TALL tree this year. We have really tall ceilings in the new house so I was excited to find the perfect tree. In the past we have had a small living room so a big tree wasn't an option. The first farm we went to didn't have anything as big as we were looking for. The owner was a very nice man and suggested a tree farm that may have what we were looking for. We found a winner and it looks perfect!! Festival of Trees Parade

The weekend before Thanksgiving was the Festival of Trees Parade in Davenport. Jeff had to leave for Germany on this day so Grammy and Papa came out. We dropped Jeff off at the airport and headed to the parade. It was a very nice parade with several huge balloons. Luca enjoyed it and it was a great way to kick off the holiday spirit! Maine

Jeff and I had been wanting to go to Maine since we visited the North of Spain and had the wonderful seafood. We decided that would be our first trip once we moved home and had planned on going last fall. Well things didnt quite work out and we decided to wait. So this Fall we said we are going no matter what! We left Luca with Grammy and Papa and a had a nice relaxing vacation. We really needed this. With Jeff working like crazy and the stress/emotional toll of struggling with infertility it was just what we needed! We flew into Portland and rented a car and drove the coast up to Bar Harbor stopping at small towns along the way. We ate lobster everyday that was amazing, drank the local beers and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors.
