A Day Out with "Tommy"

We went with my family to a Day out with Thomas a couple of weeks ago. We knew Luca would be in heaven since everything is "Tommy, Tommy Tommy." It poured on the way there and for the beginning of the day, but ended up clearing up. Hey, we got some Thomas ponchos out of it! We took a ride on Thomas, saw tons of old trains, jumped in bounce houses, saw clowns, and a magic show, and Luca got a new train and puzzle as souvenirs. It was a fun day! I would definitely recommend going.

Choo Choo I'm TWO!

Luca turned 2 on July 30th, and since we moved home July 29th, his party waited a few weeks.

Since he can not get enough of CHOO CHOOs it only seemed fitting to have a Two Two Train Party! I go all out on parties, I love it, and if I didn't have a budget it would be 100 times worse. I ordered all 3 of us engineer hats, and bandana's, however, SOMEONE may have been a party pooper and didn't wear his! We had train tracks coming into the front and back doors, homemade banners, train balloons, train tables, train whistles, train suckers, train pinata, you name I had it! And to see Luca's eyes light up at the sight of it all it is totally worth it!

This year we didn't have to fit all Luca's presents back to Spain in a suitcase, so he got a lot of BIG toys, especially outdoor toys since we now have a yard again. He is in Heaven with all his new goodies!

I can't believe he is Two. Luca is one funny, active, lovable boy that I love to pieces! Happy Birthday Bubs!

Home Sweet Home!

We are settling back in the U.S. and loving it! I haven't been blogging since we are still waiting on our shipment from Spain, which has my camera cords for uploading pics and the computer I usually blog from. But here is an update to what we have been up to.

We arrived back to the states the day before Luca's second Birthday. On his birthday we took him to Grand Bear Lodge to play in the bounce houses and watch the fireworks. He had never seen fireworks up until then since we have not been able to celebrate the 4th of July for the past 2 years. He loved them and called them "popcorn" and "stars."

We are renting a home in Princeton for the time being and are really liking it here. We went to our home is Geneseo, and took some of our furniture from our current renters, now we are waiting for the rest of our stuff to get here to make it "our home", hopefully it arrives soon! We are getting tired of eating with plastic utensils and paper plates and living out of our suitcases. The closeness to our family and friends has been awesome, playdates anytime, frequent visits from grandparents...it's GREAT! You can just see the joy in Luca's eyes. He truly is happier here!

This past weekend we had Luca's Two Two train party at our new house. He got a ton of BIG OUTSIDE toys, something we could not have in Spain. I will post pictures soon!

We are loving being back, life is just so much easier here, the little things... like, parking, shopping, ATMS, normal sized appliances, restaurants open before 9:00pm, getting things done at a much faster speed! Not that I'm bashing Spain, there are definitely things I will miss about there as well.

Jeff has started his new job....from home! They have not found him an office yet so he works from home in his underwear everyday! The traveling starts soon, he has trips planned to Spain, China, and Brazil all coming up.

We are so happy to be home, but also have had a few bumps along they way, which is normal I quess, for the last two weeks Jeff and I have been covered in poison sumac...a nasty, itchy, mess! Thank god Luca has not gotten it. We have had some confusion with our Spain shipment and some big decisions to make reguarding our "house" situations! But things could be a 100 times worse! We are thankful to be HOME!

Deutschland

We took our last big hurrah trip to Germany. There were several locations we still wanted to visit, however Germany worked with Jeff's work schedule. He had to go on a week long trip, so Luca and I joined him. We started in Munich. When we arrived it was raining so we headed to the Hofbrauhaus to enjoy awesome liter beers, huge pretzels, and Germany music. The next day we went on an hour drive the the Neuschwanstein Castle, this is the castle the Disney Castle in modeled after. It had amazing views and the drive there was beautiful as well. Everything in Germany is GREEN unlike Spain...we really miss the GREEN! On the way back we stopped at the Andechs Monastery that has been brewing beer since 1455! The next day in Munich we toured the city and saw the square (Marienplatz), Rathaus, Peterskirche, walked through the English Gardens, and of course enjoyed more liters of beer. Can you tell we loved the German Wheat Beer! After Munich we drove to Manheim were Jeff was working for the week. We rented a car this trip and it was nice to be able to drive from town to town. While Jeff worked Luca and I explored the downtown. After work we went to Heidelberg. Here we saw the Heidelberg Castle, Old Bridge, and ate typical Germany food at the Kulturbrauerei. Luca and I flew back to Spain and Jeff stayed for work. Another beautiful trip! (to all my blogger friends- I can not get anything to copy and past on my blog, separate paragraphs or get my pics from photobucket. anyone else have this problem?)
