Fall Fun

We enjoyed A LOT of fun fall activities. We really missed Fall last year while living in spain, and we took full advantage of orchards,bonfires, apple cider, leaf piles and Halloween this year! Here is a picture overload of all our Fall Fun!

Galicia

I am going back to Spain for this post. I have been meaning to blog about our last Spanish getaway but I just am not keeping up with the blogging since we moved back home......I am going to try and be better at this.

A week before we left to move home, the movers came and packed all of our stuff, and with nothing in the house, we figured we would take a drive to the north of Spain. We had seen about everywhere else in Spain, and the North was about the only place left we want to see. Galicia is the northwestern part of Spain, known for having wonderful seafood and being GREEN.. We staying in a very neat rural hotel. It was and old building converted to a hotel of about six rooms. It had a awesome view and pool area that we had all to ourselves.

We stayed in the town of Baiona,Which in 1493, the Pinta, one of the ships from Columbus' voyage to discover the New World returned to Europe and arrived in Baiona, making the town's port the first to receive news of the discovery of America. We saw the replica of the Pinta, which was very interesting.

We took several drives along the coast and stopped in small towns for lunch. Everywhere you would see, these concrete monuments, called "horreos" which are the symbol of the Galicia area. They are used to store grains and are elevated to keep out the water.

We also ate tons of seafood, Things I though I would never even try, like octopus and razor clams were surprisingly good. And I loved the scallops! We are now craving seafood, and want to take a trip to Maine for some good lobster!

On our drive to the north, my camera lens broke, so all I have to show are horrible pics that I got through my phone.

Just For Two's

Luca is going to school!! I know it is only 2 days a weeks for an hour each day....but I still feel like he is all grown up! He goes to the YMCA to the Just for Two's program. He seems to be liking it, he is excited to go into the room when we get there and there has been no tears. I think this is going to be good for him. THe last 18 months of his life have been in a different country were he was surrounded by Spanish! It's good for me too, I am staying and working out while he is in class. I am looking forward to seeing what he learns, his arts and crafts he brings home, and making cutesy snacks for him to bring in for the class!! I still have the teacher in me:)
